Learning Outcomes for the Learner: Students will be able to
- Read and demonstrate an understanding of literary and Informational text
- Demonstrate understanding of a text by retelling the story or restating information from the text, including the main idea
- Express personal thoughts and feelings about what has been read
- Use stated and implied information and ideas in texts, initially with support and direction, to make simple inferences and reasonable predictions about themName familiar objects as seen in pictures (naming words)
- Identify some vocal effects, including tone, pace, pitch, and volume, and use those appropriately to help communicate their meaning
- Read, understand, and predict the meaning of and solve unfamiliar words using different types of cues, including: semantic (meaning) cues, syntactic (language structure) cues, and graphophonic (phonological and graphic) cues
- Express personal thoughts and feelings about what has been read
- Recognise simple organizational patterns in texts of different types.
- Use familiar words and phrases to convey a clear meaning
In addition,
- They would also learn to sequence the days of the week and months of the year; summarise and articulate the role of dogs in our lives, Classify dogs under the category of Mammals, list down the ‘Things to Remember’ points if a dog has to be adopted as a pet
- Consolidate the understanding of nouns as names of people, places, animals, and things
- Identify and use simple opposites and prepositions like ‘in’, ‘under’, ‘over’, etc.
- Children will experience ‘Read Aloud’ Sessions.
